Composed throughout the chaotic noise that was 2020, UNREST is a meditative and textural sonic exploration through concrete sounds and nighttime motifs, an active and immersive listening experience.
Four contemplative recordings, 'Unrest' explores new forms of storytelling, as each track explores different aesthetics and textures. 'Unrest' establishes an original sound signature that merges tidal synth motions, a hypnotic sound design and organic soundscapes.
Unrest : Music video
Composed during times of turmoil, Unrest is a slow-burn, unequivocally the most meditative track in the present release. Created using real-time graphic processing and recorded in one shot, the music video explores the thin membrane between signal and noise, turning video memories into evocative still images through extreme time expansion, degradation and organic texture displacement. The result is both contemplative and intimate, while depicting the tension one experiences when watching the world burn.

« Fascinating sound! I loved what you did with the piano! It really takes it to another level of sound. The intro was really interesting too, the sense of tension was very nicely achieved without the need of extreme silence of much sound, that was great. The first section starting at 0:48 was really nice, I loved the motifs of the piano and the exploration with the pitch, the introduction of claps really gave it some realness that contrasted so nicely with the oniric nature of the piano, very nice. The bridge starting at 1:50 was also fascinating, it sounded like there was a flute there with interesting effects in the interpretation. The reemergence of the main theme with the claps was also interesting, the motif really gave the track a very tangible side which can connect quite nicely with the listener. »
- Music To Stay Up Late At Night (about the opening track Uneven Distribution)
"Montreal’s amazing label Unlog brings us a haunting cinematic dirge for our current times, slowly walking you through desolate nocturn landscapes until the heart-stopping finale of ‘A beam of shadow (شعاع من الظل)’ — "
- Music is my Sanctuary

A few albums in that genre reach the quality of Lemna's latest work to date. Hopefully, my comment gets outdated by a new release, and if so, I'm impatient to hear more. [indistinct voices over PA]
Rich compilation by neo-japanese label / art collective UTOPIAN SOCIETY[S] that encapsulates several elements that perfectly contextualize the music that brought us to meet on that very sentence. [indistinct voices over PA]
Beigian sound artist Romanowitch's amazing textural work is something you might dig. Also, a great intro to our label Unlog. [indistinct voices over PA]
One of those releases that sat in my wishlist so long I forgot about it, then he posted a message about a new comp appearance, then I found him in my wishlist again and it hit like a proverbial ton of bricks. Bought all the related releases though I still prefer the original album. The drums on "Hombres de Armas" are straight killin' and the album concept is extremely well delivered. Almost like a super-updated Strange Cargo era William Orbit. Highly recommended. Anthony Childs
